Variceal Banding (Endoscopic Variceal Ligation - EVL) is a specialized endoscopic procedure used to treat enlarged veins (varices) in the esophagus that commonly develop due to liver diseases such as cirrhosis and portal hypertension. These swollen veins can rupture and cause life-threatening bleeding if left untreated.
